Survivair Air Packs
Now At North Oldham!!
The new
air-packs purchased by the fire department also contain technological upgrades.
The warning devices that alert when exposed to intense heat or when a firefighter has
stopped moving (personal alert devices) are now built into the air-pack and are activated
by turning on the air supply. Now, we have more reliable personal alert devices that alert
by sound as well as vibration and can not be accidentally left in the "off"
position. Also, the new packs are 30% lighter and significantly smaller and easier to wear
than the old models that weighed 30 pounds and were held on to the firefighter with thin,
fire resistant canvas straps. These air-packs manufactured by the Survivair Corp. of Santa
Ana, CA.
