Puppy Rescue
On May 20, 2001, the North Oldham Fire Department responded to a request for assistance from Oldham County Animal Control. A 6-week old golden retriever had become stuck in a storm-drain sewer pipe. After nearly 3 hours of work, which included cutting through tree roots and opening a hole in a steel-reinforced concrete pipe, the puppy, Sammy, was brought out - unhurt. Here are some pictures and a video of the rescue.
